Joining my Sustainable Tour through Split, you will have the joy of meeting local craftsmen and vendors, symbols of Split.

One of them is Marija, a dear local lady with a memorable story.

Marrying into a family where her father-in-law started the tradition of measuring height and weight post-World War II, Marija initially assisted him. However, as she raised her own children and pursued work at the Yugoplastica factory, she didn’t have time to help him anymore. So her mother stepped in to carry on the legacy.

After her mother’s passing and her own retirement, Marija faithfully took the business and now spends her days by the scale, engaging with neighbors, and preserving the spirit of community. So, next time you’re strolling by, don’t miss the chance to visit Marija’s, get your height measured, and leave a kind word or a donation.

Join me for a walk through time, traditions, and everyday life.
